The Vth ISPAD/VAPES Conference “DIABETES AND RARE DISEASES” will take place on 11-13 April 2019, Albena resort near Varna, Bulgaria
After the success of the previous 4 ISPAD/VAPES meetings (2011 to 2017), local organizers (Varna Pediatric Endocrine Society, VAPES) aim to attract any interested pediatric endocrinologists, pediatricians, postgraduate trainees, medical students and nurses in 2019.
The chosen topics concentrate on different aspects of diabetes in children and adolescents, with a special emphasis on new technologies, as well as the contemporary emphasis on rare diabetes and other rare endocrine diseases. Our distinguished speakers are Tadej Battelino, Irene Netchine, Paul Thornton, Senthil Senniappan, Marek Niedziela, Matthew Johnson, Anya Rothenbuhler, Noah Gruber and others. Lay public lecture is organized for the Silver-Russell and Prader-Willi patients. The always present and very beneficial for participants live ESPE e-learning will be lead by Danielle van der Kaay from The Netherlands. The program is posted separately.

Abstracts of participants, interested to take part in the oral or poster sessions, must be written in English (Times New Roman, 12 pt), up to 250 words in length. Please write the names of all authors as well as their affiliations, and up to 3 key words at the end of the abstract. The abstracts will be printed in a Supplement of Scripta Scientifica Medica journal, with free Internet access. Dead-line for abstract submission – 05 March 2019. Notification of first authors – 20 March 2019.
